2015 Opel/Vauxhaull Corsa

The Corsa has been around since 1982 and sits just below the Astra as Opel/Vauxhaull's main supermini. The current generation of the Corsa is called the "D" and has been around since 2006. Available as 3 and 5 door hatch. With a variety of economical petrol and diesel engines to choose from and trim levels the Corsa is easily a very customisable car.

The styling of the new car certainly looks attractive, the new car appears to be half Opel Adam half Astra. Its new headlights for example stream into the front fenders, the whole front facia looks sleaker and sportier than before. However the rear of new car looks a bit bland, a bit to much like the current Astra but perhaps this just takes getting used to. Then we get to the interior and joy of joys it is much nicer then the current Corsa, there is more of an upmarket look about it and it has the new intellilink touch screen unit found in the Adam and new Insignia.

The new car will inevitably come as a 3 and 5 door hatch with a a variety of eco friendly petrol and diesel engines. You will also be able to buy a sporty SRi which should be a looker aswel as the high performance OPC/VXR model which is rumoured to put out 197 BHP, the same as a Toyota GT86. Sales are expected in January 2015 and while no official pricing
has been announced yet it will probably start between €13,000 and €14,000.

2015 Jaguar XE

So here it is, the baby Jaguar saloon. Sitting below the XF as the smallest saloon and cheapest car Jaguar now makes. The XE is looking to taking on the BMW 3 series, Audi A4 and Mercedes C class. Jaguar will offer five engine choices such as a 2.0 161BHP Turbo Diesel, a 2.0 litre petrol with optional power outputs and even the superchagred 3.0 V6 will be available in the XES model.

So what about styling? Well it is a good looking car but it lacks the muscular cool image of the XF, the XE is more restrained which is not such a bad thing. Yes a BMW 3 series has more lines and angles but the XE draws less attention to itself, it's more discreet. Then there is the interior. It's just like the XJ and XF, spacious and trimmed in your choice of piano black finish and a variety of wooden choices and brushed aluminium. It also has less buttons scattered around the centre console which gives the car a neater looking interior than the BMW and Audi. As far as space goes it looks to have lots leg room in the back and as seen in these photo's the seats are available as half leather half alcantara with nice big side supports so it should be comfortable on those long journey's.

As far as equipment goes the XE will feature LED running daylights, sat nav, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, speed limit indicator and a forward facing camera for traffic sign recognition. The eight inch touchscreen will also feature Jaguar InControl apps for Apple or Android phones which will give access to Internet radio, traffic information, news and navigation. It also has a fancy dial that rises out of the centre console which is the gear selector and a standard push button ignition.

Starting prices are thought to be around €37,000 for the base model diesel and with the possibility of more options to come in the future. Sales are expected in May 2015.
